Bryan MacDonald Announces Candidacy for Pullman City Council

Pullman, WA — Longtime Pullman resident, Bryan MacDonald, is running for Pullman City Council Ward 1, with a focus on practical, action-oriented leadership, supporting local businesses, and creating a vibrant community where future generations can thrive. “I came to Pullman for school over 30 years ago,” MacDonald shared. “I found a great place to start a career at SEL. Pullman was a safe place with tons of outdoor recreation and great schools—an amazing place to raise my family. My focus on city council would be making practical decisions to help the next generation have an amazing place for them to start a career, a business, a family, a life, and a place they proudly call home.”

One of MacDonald’s priorities is cultivating a culture of creative problem-solving within City Council. He believes that Pullman deserves leadership that is action-oriented and decisive. “Last year I was disappointed that when we spent ~$12M on Project Downtown Pullman, we didn't address the prominent rundown buildings. That disappointment has turned more and more to disgust each time I run or bike past the Pine Street Plaza bridge damaged in the flood,” MacDonald shared. “Pullman needs leaders who are eager to change this—prioritizing Pullman for our people and businesses.”

MacDonald believes we should build on the distinctive qualities of our town. He shared, “Pullman is a unique and special place. It’s an amazing small town with some of the amenities of a larger city. We need to lean into what makes Pullman special. Whether it is WSU, SEL, or other community partners—it is important that we are all working together to leverage the various strengths across our community to help Pullman reach its full potential.”
